In one week, I will be a Senior Microsoft SQL Server Consultant with Amazon Web Services. I am extremely excited to join the exceptional AWS family. I will be working on a global professional services team focusing primarily on helping local and regional consulting teams with their customers’ SQL Server work loads. My time will be divided differently than your traditional consultant, though.
- 40% Documentation of best practices and standard operating procedures for using SQL Server on AWS and migrating SQL Server workloads to AWS.
- 40% Enablement. Knowledge distribution, training, and supporting local and regional AWS consultants.
- 20% Traditional customer facing deliverables / interactions.
I am eager to put my experience with SQL Server, technical writing, and training to work for AWS and all of our customers. I strive to make migrations to AWS easier and to optimize how customers use their data platform on AWS.
As I ramp up with this new position and settle in, I will be stepping away from blogging on sqlhammer.com.
If I end up blogging at a new location, such as the AWS blogs, I will update this post with the information.
